Neuro-Diversity

Neuro-Diversity is a naturally
occurring​, brain-based way of being,
thinking, and living
.

Neuro-diverse is a word used to refer to  individuals living with and thru Autism, Non-verbal Learning Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia, Profound intelligence,
Sensory Processing Disorder, Psychiatric conditions, Learning Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury, Dementia, or others.


People living through these different  experiences have a varying degree of difference and difficulty to fit and function in society's norms and expectations. The Neuro-diverse word also communicates the ability to be both/and, intellectually gifted and disabled, for example.  

Neuro-diverse is a word reflecting a shift from a medicalized, pathologizing perspective,
to an inclusive, well-being perspective.  


Neurodiversity is the word used to mean that humans, though all different, are collectively given the same value and inclusion by the community and society.

While there are times in the lives of those who live through neurodiversity, who are experiencing impairment or suffering that meets the clinical definition for illness or pathology, a person's foundational humanity and wellbeing ALWAYS exist, in and through their
​unique neuro-functioning
